Our Story
Hello, we are AJX (Ausviena, Akma, Jess, Xin Yi)!
Girls being girls, we love beautiful things and we love to shop. However, we observed a few things which bothered us:
#1 We do not wear 70% of our existing clothes
#2 Despite #1, we still casually “hunt” for our next “bargain”
#3 If we bought those clothes online, it is common to be faced with a mountain of unnecessary plastic packaging, which comes along with our purchase, and they (the plastic wrappers) would eventually end up in our rubbish bins
One day, through a casual coffee chat, we thought that we should do something to address this - Surely, there will be someone who treasures the things that we no longer wanted, and surely, shopping can be “plastic-free”.
We immediately got to work to set up this website to connect women’s closets (primarily ours and our closed ones) to Malaysian shoppers - and on 5 May 2020, AJX For Humanity was officially launched.
